Château MELIN

Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux

The vineyard was created by Louis Modet in 1850.
Since then, it has been handed down to each following generation who,
in turn, preserved the expertise and passion for wine while at the same time adapting to modern methods.
Pascal Modet took over in 2003 and thus became the fifth génération to manage the vineyard.
On the ridge of the hills caressing the Garonne river, the vineyard spreads over the two neighbouring villages of Baurech and Tabanac, between the Entre-Deux-Mers plateau and the Garonne river (on the east bank), at the heart of the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux AOC region.

With yield never exceeding 50lha, alcohol content between 10.5% and 13%, grape varieties including 5% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 55 Merlot, this appelletion growing on warm gravel or clay-limestone soils has proven its worth.
